The hall stands near the east end of the church.

Mr. Salmon mentions a female huntress in his time who had been seen to swim her horse over the ferry from South Fambridge during a chase.

The river Crouch separates this parish from South Fambridge : it occupies the south-west corner of the hundred.  
Distant from Maldon five miles, and thirty-eight from London.  
The church is a small brick building, near the Ferry, dedicated to the Holy Trinity  
 In 1821 there were one hundred and forty-seven inhabitants, and one hundred and forty-eight in 1831.
