Carriers operating from the Dengie 100
Carriers were important people as they provided a method for getting small goods from the villages of the Dengie peninsula to Maldon and other markets.
They also provided means of transport for those people not rich enough to own a horse or well enough to walk.
A few carriers also operated from the Dengie villages to Chelmsford.
