Essex Regiment lost nearly 9000 men in the Great War of which the above 75 were either born in this area or gave their residence as this area at the time of their death.

Given the long list and the small print it is possible that a name may have been ommitted from this list.

The brave men who gave their lived in the Great War deserve recognition and so the compiler would welcome details of any soldier who may have been missed.
