Will of Susannah Hill
This is the last Will and
Testament of me Susannah Hill formerly of Dover in the County of
Kent afterwards of Ashingdon in the County of Essex but now of
Woodham Walter in the County of Essex Widow
I give and bequeath to my
Niece Mary Ann Lovatt the Wife of Edmund Lovatt of Woodham Walter
aforesaid Yeoman all my ready money my stock in all or any of the
public stocks or funds of Great Britain and all the Rest and Residue
of my personal property of every description to and for her own use
and benefit absolutely but subject nevertheless chargeable with the
payment thereof of one hundred pound part of the stock now standing
in the Books of the Governor of the Bank of England Unto my sister
Amelia Richardson the wife of Charles Richardson of Rochford in the
County of Essex Hairdresser and I direct my executors hereinafter
named or my acting executor for the time being to pay to the said
Amelia Richardson the said legacy of one hundred pounds stock
without interest at the expiration of twelve calendar months from
the day of my decease provided always and I do will and declare that
in case the said Amelia Richardson shall depart this life before the
expiration twelve calendar months from the day of my decease then
the said legacy of one hundred pounds stock hereby bequeathed to her
is to be void and not payable to the representatives of the said
Amelia Richardson but I will and direct that the said one hundred
pounds stock shall be paid to or transferred by my executors into
the name of the said Mary Ann Lovatt to whom I give and bequeath the
same accordingly and I appoint my friends the said Edmund Lovatt and
Edward Middleditch of Purleigh Essex ffarmer Executors of my said
Will In Witness whereof I the said Susannah Hill have hereunto set
my hand the fourth day of October one thousand eight hundred and
forty
